Chapter 65.--PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 1.--SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT, ACTIVITIES

      65-129e.   Tuberculosis evaluation requirements forcertain students; rules and regulations; evaluation criteria; treatment andmonitoring of infected persons.(a) The secretary of health and environment is herebyauthorized and directed to adopt rules and regulations establishingtuberculosis evaluation requirementsfor certain studentsentering college or university classrooms in Kansashaving been born in or lived or traveled in countries identified by thecenters for disease control and prevention as areas where tuberculosis is ahealth risk. Compliancewith these rules and regulations, including all cost associated with theevaluation, shall be the joint responsibility of the educational institutionsand the student orthe parents or guardians of the student, whereapplicable. These rules and regulations shall establish evaluation criteria incompliance with best practice standards as recommended by the division oftuberculosis elimination of the centers for disease control.

      (b)   Any person found to be infected with tuberculosis infection ortuberculosis disease will be provided treatment and ongoing monitoring inaccordance with K.S.A. 65-116a to 65-116m, inclusive, and amendments thereto.
