Chapter 65.--PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 1.--SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT, ACTIVITIES

      65-1,169.   Same; collection of data; rules andregulations; reporting of cases.(a) The secretary is hereby authorized to collect data pertaining to allcancers occurring in Kansas into a registry which shall be the cancer registryfor the state of Kansas. The secretary shall adopt rules and regulations whichuse the most efficient, least intrusive means for collecting cancer dataconsistent with ensuring the quality, timeliness, completeness andconfidentiality of the cancer registry. The rules and regulations shall specifywho shall report, the data elements to be reported, timeliness of reporting andformat for collecting and transmitting data to the registry.

      (b)   Health care providers, as defined in K.S.A. 65-1,168 and amendmentsthereto, and other individuals and entities specified in rules and regulationsshall report to the registry each case diagnosed or treated unless exempted bystatute or regulation within six months of the date of diagnosis.
