Chapter 65.--PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 1.--SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT, ACTIVITIES

      65-1,245.   Rules and regulations.Not later than 180 days after the effective date of thissection, the secretary of health and environmentshall adopt rules and regulations in accordance with theprovisions ofthis act to do all of the following subject to available funding:

      (a)   Implement the birth defects information system;

      (b)   specify the types of congenital anomalies and abnormal conditions ofnewborns to be reported to the system underK.S.A. 2009 Supp.65-1,241, andamendments thereto;

      (c)   establish reporting requirements for information concerning diagnosedcongenital anomalies and abnormal conditions of newborns;

      (d)   establish a form for use by parents or legal guardians who seek to haveinformation regarding their children removed from the system and a method ofdistributing the form to local health departments and to physicians. The methodof distribution must include making the form available on the internet.
