Article 15.--REGULATION OF OPTOMETRISTS

      65-1509a.   Continuing educationrequirements.In addition to the payment of the license renewal fee, each licensee,other than one who has graduated from an optometry school within 12 monthsof the date of the application for renewal,applying for license renewal shall furnish to the secretary of the boardsatisfactory evidence of successfully completing a minimum of24 hours ofcontinuing education programs, five hours of which shall relate to ocularpharmacology, therapeutics or related topics of study, approved by theboard in the year justpreceding such application for the renewal of the license. The board, inits discretion, may increase the required hours of continuing education byrulesand regulations adopted by the board. On or before April 1 of eachyear, the secretary of the board shall senda written notice of continuing education requirements to this effect toevery person holding a valid license to practice optometry within the state. Suchnotice shall be directed tothe last known address of such licensee.
