Chapter 65.--PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 16.--REGULATION OF PHARMACISTS

      65-1627j.   Subpoenas.(a) In all investigative and disciplinary matters pendingbefore the board, the board shall have the power to issue subpoenas and compelthe attendance of witnesses and the production of all necessary papers, booksand records, documentary evidence and materials. Any person failing or refusingto appear or testify regarding any matter about which such person may belawfully questioned or to produce any papers, books, records, documentaryevidence or materials in the matter to be heard, after having been required byorder of the board or by a subpoena of the board to do so, upon application toany district judge of the state of Kansas, may be ordered to comply with suchsubpoena, and upon failure to comply with the order of the district judge, thecourt may compel obedience by attachment as for contempt as in the case ofdisobedience of a similar order or subpoena issued by the court. A subpoena maybe served upon any person named therein, anywhere within the state of Kansaswith the same fees and mileage by any officer authorized to serve subpoenas incivil actions in the same manner as is prescribed by the code of civilprocedure for subpoenas issued out of the district courts of this state.

      (b)   This section shall be part of and supplemental to the pharmacy act of thestate of Kansas.
