Chapter 65.--PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 28.--HEALING ARTS

      65-2892a.   Examination and treatment of minors for drug abuse, misuseor addiction; liability.Any physician licensed to practice the healing arts in Kansas, uponconsultation with any minor as a patient, may examine and treat such minorfor drug abuse, misuse or addiction if such physician has secured the priorconsent of such minor to the examination and treatment. All suchexaminations and treatment may be performed without the consent of anyparent, guardian or other person having custody of such minor, and allminors are hereby granted the right to give consent to such examination andtreatment. In any such case, the physician shall incur no civil or criminalliability by reason of having made such diagnostic examination or renderedsuch treatment, but such immunity shall not apply to any negligent acts oromissions. The physician shall incur no civil or criminal liability byreason of any adverse reaction to medication administered, if reasonablecare has been taken.
