Article 54.--OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

      65-5408.   Waiver of examination and otherrequirements; when waived; temporary license.(a) The board may waive the examination, education or experiencerequirements and grant licensure to any applicantwho presents proofof current licensure or registration as an occupational therapist oroccupational therapy assistant in another state, the District of Columbiaor territory of the United States which requires standards for licensure orregistration determined by the board to be equivalent to or exceed therequirements for licensure under this act.

      (b)   At the time of making an application under thissection, theapplicant shall pay to the board the application fee as required underK.S.A. 65-5409 and amendments thereto.

      (c)   The board may issue a temporarylicense to an applicant forlicensure as an occupational therapist or as anoccupational therapyassistant who applies for temporary licensure on aform provided by theboard, who meets the requirements for licensure orwho meets all therequirements for licensure except examinationand who pays to the board the temporary license feeas required underK.S.A. 65-5409 and amendments thereto. Such temporarylicense shallexpire one year from the date of issue or on the date that the board approvesthe application for licensure, whichever occursfirst. No more than onesuch temporarylicense shall be permitted to any one person.
