Chapter 65.--PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 61.--EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

      65-6104.   Emergency medical services board and administrator successorto certain powers, duties and functions; orders and directives, rules andregulations continued.(a) Except as provided in this act, the emergency medical services boardestablished by K.S.A. 65-6102 shall be the successor in everyway to the powers, duties and functions of the bureau of emergency medicalservices established by K.S.A. 74-2127, and amendments thereto, in whichthe same were vested prior to the effective date of this act.

      (b)   Except as provided in this act, the administrator of the emergencymedical services board appointed pursuant to K.S.A. 65-6103shall be the successor in every way to the powers, duties and functions ofthe director of the bureau of emergency medical services established byK.S.A. 74-2127, and amendments thereto, in which the same were vested priorto the effective date of this act.

      (c)   Whenever the bureau of emergency medical services or emergencymedical services council or words of like effect are referred to ordesignated by a statute, contract or other document, such reference ordesignation shall be deemed to apply to the emergency medical servicesboard established by K.S.A. 65-6102. Whenever the director ofthe bureau of emergency medical services or words of like effect arereferred to or designated by a statute, contract or other document, suchreference or designation shall be deemed to apply to the emergency medicalservices board.

      (d)   All orders and directives of the emergency medical services councilwhich relate to emergency medical services and which were adopted underK.S.A. 65-4314 to 65-4331, inclusive, and amendments thereto, in existenceimmediately prior to the effective date of this act shall continue to beeffective and shall be deemed to be the orders or directives of theemergency medical services board, until revised, amended, repealed ornullified pursuant to law.

      All rules and regulations of the emergency medical services council whichrelate to emergency medical services and which were adopted under K.S.A.65-4314 to 65-4331, inclusive, and amendments thereto, in existenceimmediately prior to the effective date of this actshall continue to be effective and shall be deemed to be the rulesand regulations of the emergency medical services board, until revised,amended, repealed or nullified pursuant to law.
