Article 72.--NATUROPATHIC DOCTORS

      65-7206.   Waiver of examination and otherrequirements; when waived; temporary registration.(a) The board may waive the examination or educationrequirements, or both, and grant registration (1) to any applicantwho presents proofof current authorization to practice naturopathy in anotherstate, the District of Columbia or territory of the United States whichrequires standards for authorization to practice determined by the board tobe equivalent to the requirements forregistration under this act and (2) to anyapplicant who presents proof that on the day preceding the effective date ofthis act that the applicant was practicing under K.S.A. 65-2872a and amendmentsthereto.

      (b)   At the time of making an application under thissection, theapplicant shall pay to the board the application fee as required underK.S.A. 65-7207 and amendments thereto.

      (c)   The board may issue a temporaryregistration to an applicant forregistration as a naturopathic doctor who applies fortemporaryregistration on a form provided by the board, who meetsthe requirementsfor registrationor who meets all the requirements for registration except examination and whopays to the board the temporaryregistration fee asrequired under K.S.A. 65-7207 and amendments thereto.The person who holds a temporary registration shall practice only under thesupervision of a registered naturopathic doctor. Such temporary registrationshallexpire one year fromthe date of issue or onthedate that the board approves the application forregistration, whichever occursfirst. No more than one such temporary registration shallbe permitted to anyone person.

      (d)   The provisions of this section shall take effect on and after January 1,2003.
