Chapter 66.--PUBLIC UTILITIES
Article 1.--POWERS OF STATE CORPORATION COMMISSION

      66-1,108b.   Same; powers of state corporationcommission.The state corporation commission is given full power,authority and jurisdiction to supervise and control motor carriers, as definedin K.S.A. 66-1,108, and amendments thereto, doing business or procuringbusiness in Kansas, and is empowered to do all things necessary and convenientfor the exercise of such power, authority and jurisdiction. The commissionshall have general supervision of all motor carriers operating in this state.The commission shall inquire into any neglect or violations of the lawspertaining to theregulation of motor carriers of this state by any motor carrier or any personretaining the transportation services of that motor carrier. From time to time,the commission shall carefully examine and inspect the condition of each motorcarrier, its equipment, the manner of its conduct and its management withreference to the public safety andconvenience. Nothing in this section shall be construed as relieving any motorcarrier from responsibility or liability for damage to person or property.
