Chapter 66.--PUBLIC UTILITIES
Article 1.--POWERS OF STATE CORPORATION COMMISSION

      66-1,161.   Same; appointment of counsel to representlandowners' interests; counsel for individual landowners; interveningparties.The commission shall appoint an attorney to represent the interestsof the landowners at the hearing and shall allow a reasonable attorney'sfee, which shall be taxed as part of the costs thereof. Landowners, attheir own expense, may retain counsel to represent their individual interestsat such hearing. The chief administrative officer, or any other personor persons designated by such officer, of any governmental board or agencyaffected by the siting of the proposed nucleargeneration facility shall bedeemed to meet the requirement for intervention contained in subsection(a)(2) of K.S.A. 77-521 and amendments thereto. Anyowner or lessee of land whose estate or interest in such land would notbe acquired by the electric utility but would be affected in some othermanner by the construction, operation or maintenance of thefacility may petition forinterventionin accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 77-521 and amendments thereto.
