Chapter 66.--PUBLIC UTILITIES
Article 1.--POWERS OF STATE CORPORATION COMMISSION

      66-1,180.   Same; siting; proceedings;permit.All hearings conducted pursuant to this act shall be in accordancewith the provisions of the Kansasadministrative procedure act. All such hearings shall becompleted within 30days after the commencement thereof, unless the electric utility requestsa continuance of any such hearing. All costs of any hearingpursuant to this act shallbe taxed against the electric utility. The commission shall make itsdecision with respectto the necessity for and the reasonableness of the location of theproposed electric transmissionline, taking into consideration the benefit to both consumers inKansas and consumers outside the state and economic development benefits inKansas. The commission shall issue orwithhold the permit applied for andmay condition such permit as the commission may deem just andreasonable and as may,in its judgment, best protect the rights of all interested parties and thoseof the general public.
