Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES

Article 17.--MAJOR COLLECTOR ROAD SYSTEM

      68-1703.   Same; inclusion of county and townshiproads; factual data;joint responsibility.In the selection of the mileage of road to be designated in each countyfor inclusion in the major collector road systemconsideration shall be given tothe inclusion of principal county and township roads so located as toprovide adequate intertown and intercounty connections to best serve therural population of the state. The determination of the mileage to beincluded in the major collector road system shall bebased on factual dataobtained by the county commissioners and the secretary of transportation,cooperating with the federal government in accordance with title 23 of thecode of federal regulations.

      The designation of the roadmileage to be included in the major collector roadsystem shall hereafter be thejoint responsibility of the boards of county commissioners and thesecretary of transportation, the board of county commissioners making therecommendation and the secretary concurring in therecommendation.
