Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES

Article 20.--TOLL ROADS OR TURNPIKES

      68-2025.   Policing turnpike facilities; agreements with highway patrolauthorized; approval by governor; terms; use of moneys.The Kansas turnpike authority and the superintendent of the Kansashighway patrol are hereby authorized to provide by contract or agreement,as provided herein, for the policing of any toll or turnpike constructedand operated as permitted and provided by law. All such contracts oragreements shall be subject to the approval of the governor and, if made,shall provide that the total cost of said policing, including, but notlimited to all salaries, expenses, uniforms, equipment, retirement benefitsprovided for members of the Kansas highway patrol assigned to any toll orturnpike facility, vehicles, communication equipment, training of membersand other items properly chargeable as costs of said policing shall be paidby the Kansas turnpike authority. Payments to the Kansas highway patrol dueunder such contracts or agreements shall be made not less than monthly andamounts so paid by the Kansas turnpike authority shall be deposited in andcredited to such fund as may be used for the support of the Kansas highwaypatrol and shall be available for its use: Provided, That paymentsmade to provide retirement benefits shall be deposited in and credited tothe state highway patrol pension fund.
