Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES
PART I.--ROADS
Article 5.--COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP ROADS

      68-516e.   County unit system; payments to county from surplus in township generalfund; use.If the township board of any township which is located in a countyoperating under the county road unit system and which township shall nothave made an ad valorem tax levy for its general fund for one (1) ormore years immediately preceding shall determine, by resolution, thereis a surplus in the general fund of such township, then said townshipboard may direct the treasurer of such township to pay a stated amountof such surplus out of the general fund of such township to the countytreasurer, and upon receipt of said payment the county treasurer shallcredit the same to a special fund and the board of county commissionersshall expend such special fund for the construction and maintenance ofroads in the township from which such payment was received, whichexpenditure shall be in addition to funds expended by the county in suchtownship from the regular county road and bridge fund.
