Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES
PART I.--ROADS
Article 5.--COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP ROADS

      68-530.   Township road overseer; assistants; trusteeas overseer incertain counties; repair and improvement work on township roads;limitation; compensation.The township board, with the approval of the county engineer, shallappoint, on merits only, a competent experienced road builder forroad overseer for the entire township. The township road overseershall have charge of theconstruction and maintenance of all township roads, bridges andculverts, under the supervision of the township board and the countyengineer. When in the opinion of the county engineer the conditionsdemand it, the overseer may appoint one or more competent assistants,subject to the approval of the township board. Thetownshipboard may designate a memberofthe township board to act asroad overseer. Compensation and the costof benefitsprovided to such officer for such work and labor shall be determined by thetownship board as provided by K.S.A.80-207, and amendments thereto.
