Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES
PART I.--ROADS
Article 5.--COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP ROADS

      68-572.   Intergovernmental agreements for road construction andmaintenance; county, city and township.The board of county commissioners of any county, any township board ofhighway commissioners of the county or city governing body within suchcounty are hereby authorized to enter into agreements for the construction,reconstruction or maintenance of any roads or streets. Such agreementsalso may provide methods of mutual assistance and cooperation whereby themachinery, equipment and employees of the county and township may be usedfor grading or bringing to grade township roads by the county or by thecounty and township and the completion and maintenance thereof by thetownship.Such agreements alsomay provide for the improvement and maintenance of city boundary line roadsor streets in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 12-693, and amendments thereto.Any such agreement between a county and a township may requirethe county engineer, and it is hereby made the county engineer'sduty in conformitytherewith, to make all necessary surveys for the laying out or bringing tograde any of such township roads.
