Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES
PART I.--ROADS
Article 5.--COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP ROADS

      68-574.   Same; notice of filing of plans; adoption of masterdevelopment plan; resolution, contents; publication; election.Notice of the filing in the office of the county clerk of the plans andspecifications covering the principal details of the master highwaydevelopment plan shall be given by publishing such notice for three (3)successive weeks in the official county newspaper by the county clerk ofsuch counties. Not less than ten (10) days after the date of the lastpublication of such notice the boards of county commissioners of suchcounties may adopt a resolution, by the unanimous vote of the membersthereof, adopting and approving such master highway development plan andproviding that the proposition of adopting or rejecting such master highwaydevelopment plan be submitted to the qualified electors of such counties ata special election called for such purpose or at the next general election.Said resolution shall contain, among other findings and matters, thefollowing:

      (a)   The name and location of each county, arterial highway to beconstructed, reconstructed, improved or repaired under the plan or project;

      (b)   the points of origin and terminus of each arterial, county highwayto be improved under the plan and the distance between such points;

      (c)   the estimated cost of constructing, reconstructing, improving orrepairing each county, arterial highway in the plan;

      (d)   the tentative work schedule or order under which such county,arterial highways will be constructed, reconstructed, improved or repairedunder the proposed plan during the said ten (10) year period following itsadoption by the electors of such counties;

      (e)   the total, estimated cost of such plan or project for which bondsare proposed to be issued and if issued cannot be exceeded;

      (f)   the general form of the proposition or question whereby the adoptionor rejection of such master highway development plan will be submitted tothe electors of such counties; and

      (g)   the date of the special election called for such purpose or thegeneral election when said proposition or question will be submitted to thequalified electors of such counties for approval or rejection of suchproposed master highway development plan or project for such counties. Suchresolution shall be published for three (3) successive weeks in theofficial county newspaper and once each week for three (3) successive weeksin one newspaper published in each city in such counties. The question orproposition calling the adoption or rejection of such master highwaydevelopment plan or project shall not be submitted to the electors morethan once each two (2) years.
