Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES
PART I.--ROADS
Article 5.--COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP ROADS

      68-586.   Counties between 130,000 and 170,000; highway bonds; election. Whenever the board of county commissioners of any county having apopulation of more than one hundred thirty thousand (130,000) and less thanone hundred seventy thousand (170,000) deems it necessary it may, byresolution duly adopted and signed by a majority of such board, issuegeneral obligation bonds for highway construction within the county, incooperation with the state of Kansas, or any political subdivision thereof,or in cooperation with any agency of the United States, and such highwayconstruction may include the construction of any necessary bridges andaccess ways, acquisition of necessary rights-of-way and other necessaryconstruction incidental to the construction of said highway. Such bondsshall not be issued until the question of issuance thereof shall have beenapproved by a majority of the electors at any general election or at aspecial election called for such purpose and held in accordance with theprovisions of the general bond law, and all bonds issued under theauthority of this act shall be issued, registered, sold, delivered andretired in accordance with the provisions of the general bond law.
