Chapter 71.--SCHOOLS--COMMUNITY COLLEGES
Article 14.--COMMUNITY COLLEGE ELECTIONS

      71-1405.   Change to district method of election.Any board desiring to change an at-large method of election toa district methodof election or from one district method of election to another shallfirst prepare a plan of change showing the proposed member districtsinto which the college district will be divided. Each member districtshall be comprised of one contiguous compact area. The member districtsshall have equal population as nearly as practicable. All of theterritory in the college district shall be assigned to and made a partof one of the member districts, and no territory shall be included in more thanone member district. The proposedmember districts shall be so plannedthat no member of the board of trustees holding office atthe time the change is made will be displaced byestablishment or rearrangement of the member districts or by inclusion ofmore members in a single proposed member district than isauthorized by law.
