Article 11a.--KANSAS CHALLENGE TO SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS

      72-11a04.   Cooperative agreements between school districts andpostsecondary education institutions; terms.(a) The board of education of any school district and anyeligible postsecondary education institution may enter into a cooperativeagreement regarding the enrollment of concurrent enrollment pupils incourses of instruction for college credit at the eligible postsecondaryeducation institution. The agreement shall include, but need not belimited to, the following:

      (1)   The academic credit to be granted for course work successfullycompleted by the pupil at the institution, which credit shall qualify ascollege credit and may qualify as both high school and college credit;

      (2)   the requirement that such course work qualify as credit applicabletoward the award of a degree or certificate at the institution;

      (3)   the requirement that the pupil shall pay to the institutionthe negotiated amount of tuition charged by the institution for enrollment ofthepupil.

      (b)   The provisions of this section shall take effect and be in force fromand after July 1, 1993.
