Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS
Article 11a.--KANSAS CHALLENGE TO SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS

      72-11a05.   Responsibilities for tuition and costs; credit for coursework.(a) No school district shall be responsible for the payment oftuition charged to concurrent enrollment pupils by eligible educationinstitutions or for the provisionoftransportation for such pupils to or from any eligiblepostsecondary education institution.

      (b)   Each concurrent enrollment pupil shallbe responsible for payment of tuition forenrollment at an eligible postsecondary education institution and forpayment of the costs of books and equipment and any other costs ofenrollment.

      (c)   Each concurrent enrollment pupil who satisfactorily completescourse work at an eligible postsecondary education institution shall begranted appropriate credit toward fulfillment of the requirements forgraduation from high school unless such credit is denied by the schooldistrict in which the pupil is enrolled on the basis that high schoolcredit is inappropriate for such course work.

      (d)   The provisions of this section shall take effect and be in force fromand after July 1, 1993.
