Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS
Article 13.--TEACHERS' LICENSES

      72-1394.   Examination for licensure; duties ofstate board; confidentiality;availability of specifications and results.(a) The state board of educationshall prescribe an examination designed to insure thatthe licensure of aperson as a teacher is a reliable indicator that the person has the basicknowledge and qualifications necessary to engage in the profession ofteaching in this state.

      (b)   In order to comply with the requirements of subsection (a), thestate board of education shall select an examination which will measure thebasic knowledge and qualifications of applicants forlicensure asteachers and shall provide for administration and validation of theexamination. The examination shall be administered toapplicants at least two times each calendar year at various locationswithin the state.

      (c)   The state board of education shall adopt rules and regulations toguarantee the confidentiality of the examination, but shall make availableto applicants information regarding examination specifications and shallprescribe the method by which persons who take the examination may obtainthe results thereof.
