Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS
Article 64.--SCHOOL DISTRICT FINANCE AND QUALITY PERFORMANCE

      72-6439a.   Failure to meet accreditationrequirements; reallocation of resources.Whenever the state board of education determines that a school hasfailed either to meet the accreditation requirements established by rules andregulations or standards adopted by the state board or provide the curriculumrequired by state law, the state board shall so notify the school district inwhich the school is located. Such notice shall specify the accreditationrequirements that the school has failed to meet and the curriculum that theschool has failed to provide. Upon receipt of such notice, the board ofeducation of such district are encouraged to reallocate the resources of thedistrict to remedy all deficiencies identified by the state board. When makingsuch reallocation, the board of education shall take into consideration theresource strategies of highly resource-efficient districts as identified inPhase III of the Kansas Education Resource Management Study conducted byStandard and Poor's (March 2006).
