Article 80.--BOARDS OF EDUCATION-- CHANGE OF METHOD OF ELECTION

      72-8007.   Election requirements for change in method of election.In the event that an election is to be called as determined insubsection (a) of K.S.A. 72-8005, or subsection(c) of K.S.A. 72-8006, in not less than forty-five(45) days and not more than sixty (60) days the county election officershall make one publication notice calling such election, and stating theballot title and proposition to be voted upon. Such notice shall bepublished not less than three (3) days prior to such election. Eachballot used in such election shall contain a ballot title giving a briefand clear description of the proposed change, specifying the existingand proposed method of election and voting plan. The ballot title shallbe followed by the proposition which shall be stated as follows: "Shalla change in the method of election or voting plan or both, as describedin the ballot title above, be approved?" When the results of any suchelection are determined by the county board of canvassers as provided bylaw, the county election officer shall promptly notify the state boardand the school district board thereof.
