Chapter 73.--SOLDIERS, SAILORS AND PATRIOTIC EMBLEMS
Article 2.--VETERANS' PREFERENCE

      73-218.   Absentee officer not entitled to compensation; status uponreturn.An officer who shall be absent from his office or position and while inthe military service shall not be entitled to any compensation as suchofficer during such absence; but upon his return, if he return before theexpiration of the period of the temporary vacancy created by his absence,he shall be entitled to immediate possession of the office or position fromwhich he was absent and upon reassuming the duties of the office to receivethe compensation for the remainder of the term to which the holder thereofis entitled, subject to removal from office according to law.
