83A.047 KRS 83A.045 provisions apply when city boundaries extend beyond single county -- Exception -- Certification of vote totals. In a city whose boundaries extend beyond those of a single county, candidates for <br>nomination or election to city office shall be governed by the provisions contained in <br>KRS 83A.045, except that all nomination papers shall be filed with the county clerk of <br>the county in which the candidate resides no later than 4 p.m. local time on the day <br>provided for in KRS 83A.045. On the day following the candidate filing deadline, each <br>county clerk shall certify the names of all candidates for city office that filed nomination <br>papers with him or her to the clerk of the other county into which the boundaries of the <br>city extend. In the case of a candidate voted for by the electors of a city whose boundaries <br>extend beyond those of a single county, each county clerk shall certify the vote totals for <br>that candidate to the clerk of the other county into which the boundaries of the city <br>extend.
