171.200 Department to administer and maintain improved cooperative and integrated system of library service. The Department for Libraries and Archives shall make and administer plans to lessen <br>inequalities of opportunity for library service, for the maintenance of an improved <br>cooperative and integrated system of library service throughout the state and for suitable <br>cooperative arrangements between public library systems, school library systems, college <br>and university libraries, special libraries, and other appropriate state agencies. The <br>department may contract with, or provide grants to other public or private institutions or <br>corporations for the purpose of fulfilling the intent of this statute subject to the provisions <br>of KRS Chapters 45 and 45A.
