171.540 Inspection of agency records. The department is authorized to inspect or survey the records of any state or local agency, <br>as well as to make surveys of records management and records disposal practices in such <br>agencies, and shall be given full cooperation of officials and employees of agencies in <br>such inspection and surveys; provided, that records, the use of which is restricted by or <br>pursuant to law or for reasons of security or the public interest, shall be inspected or <br>surveyed only in accordance with law, and the rules and regulations of the department.
