§1316-F. Tire Management Fund

The Tire Management Fund is created within the department as a nonlapsing dedicated fund to pay the costs of tire stockpile abatement, remediation and cleanup. All funds appropriated or allocated to the fund must be deposited in the fund and the fund may accept grants, bequests, gifts or contributions from any person, corporation or governmental entity. The fund must be used for the purposes set forth in section 1316-B. Permissible uses include providing financial incentives to tire processors to make the processing of tires economically feasible. The department shall report to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over natural resources matters by March 1, 1996 on how the funds have been spent. [1995, c. 465, Pt.
