Section 8. The probate court in which the estate of a deceased person is settled may hear and determine all questions of advancements arising relative to such estate, or such questions may be heard and determined upon a petition for partition; but if such question arises upon a petition for partition, the court may suspend proceedings until the question has been decided in the probate court in which the estate of the deceased is settled.
