765.6d Release on bail; waiver of extradition.

Sec. 6d.

(1) Except as provided in subsection (2), the court may require an individual to sign a written waiver of extradition to this state before releasing the individual on bail under this chapter. If the individual fails to sign the waiver, the court may consider the failure in determining the amount of bail to be posted by the individual.

(2) The court shall require an individual charged with a crime for which bail may be denied under section 15 of article I of the state constitution of 1963 to sign a written waiver of extradition to this state before releasing the individual on bail under this chapter.
