299F.855 IMPLEMENTATION.

Subdivision 1.Rules.

The commissioner of public safety, in consultation with the state fire marshal, may adopt rules, pursuant to chapter 14, necessary to effectuate the purposes of sections 299F.850 to 299F.859.

Subd. 2.Commissioner of revenue.

The commissioner of revenue in the regular course of conducting inspections of wholesale dealers, agents, and retail dealers, as authorized under chapter 297F, may inspect cigarettes to determine if the cigarettes are marked as required by section 299F.853. If the cigarettes are not marked as required, the commissioner of revenue shall notify the state fire marshal.

NOTE: This section is repealed if a federal reduced cigarette ignition propensity standard that preempts this section is adopted and becomes effective. Laws 2007, chapter 54, article 7, section 22.
