Compensation of members--additional compensation of officers--mileageallowance.

21.140. Each senator and representative shall receive fromthe treasury an annual salary of eighteen thousand seventy-eightdollars plus any salary adjustment provided pursuant to section105.005, RSMo. The speaker of the house and the president protem of the senate shall each receive as additional annualcompensation the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars, andthe speaker pro tem of the house and the majority and minorityfloor leaders of the house and senate shall each receive asadditional annual compensation the amount of one thousand fivehundred dollars. Upon certification by the president andsecretary of the senate and by the speaker and clerk of the houseof representatives as to the respective members thereof, thecommissioner of administration shall audit and the statetreasurer shall pay such compensation. Senators andrepresentatives shall receive, weekly, a mileage allowance asprovided by law for state employees, in going to their place ofmeeting in Jefferson City from their place of residence, andreturning from their place of meeting in Jefferson City to theirplace of residence while the legislature is in session, on themost usual route, if the senator or representative does travel toJefferson City during that week.
