21.550. The phrase "state and local public employeeretirement systems", as used in sections 21.550 to 21.564, unlessa different meaning is plainly required by the context, shallmean: any retirement system established by the state of Missourior any political subdivision or instrumentality of the state forthe purpose of providing retirement plan benefits for elected orappointed public officials or employees of the state of Missourior any political subdivision of the state.
