Senate bills, how filed--immediate printing--what rules apply.

21.605. A member or a member-elect of the senate may file abill by mail or in person, according to appropriate rules of thesenate, with the secretary of the senate at any time during thefiling period. Upon receiving a bill filed during the filingperiod preceding a regular session of the general assembly in anodd-numbered year, the secretary of the senate shall immediatelyhave the bill printed and made available according to the rulesand practices of the general assembly next preceding that forwhich the bill is filed and those bills received during thefiling period preceding a regular session in an even-numberedyear shall be printed and made available according to the theneffective rules of that general assembly.
