Transition facilities to be provided for governor and lieutenantgovernor.

26.225. 1. The commissioner of administration shall provideoffice space and equipment for the governor-elect and thelieutenant governor-elect and their staff during the transitionperiod. The facilities provided shall be located at the seat ofgovernment and shall be suitable for the purpose and capable ofadequately housing the transition staff of the governor-elect andthe lieutenant governor-elect. The facilities provided for thestaffs of the governor-elect and the lieutenant governor-electshall be separate facilities.

2. The commissioner of administration shall furnish thetransition facilities with adequate telephone service, officefurniture and office machines including but not limited totypewriters, adding machines and duplicating equipment.

3. The transition period office space may be located instate-owned buildings or in leased property. All salaries,expenses, rentals and equipment purchase and repairs shall bemade only from funds appropriated for the purpose of thesetransitions.
