Moneys due state institutions to be paid to whom.

31.030. Hereafter, whenever, under any law of this state,or any rule or regulation made under the authority of any law ofthis state, any county, municipality, guardian, trustee orperson is required to pay any sum or sums of money for thesupport of any person confined in any penal institution, or inany state hospital, reform, industrial or other eleemosynaryinstitution belonging to this state, or established ormaintained by this state, or is required to pay any sum for themaintenance, use or benefit of any such institution, the sameshall be paid to the state director of revenue and deposited inthe state treasury and placed to the credit of the fund to whichthey respectively belong so the money derived from eachinstitution may be placed to the credit of the fund provided bysection 31.010 for that institution. If no special fund is inexistence to which such funds must be credited, they shall becredited to the general revenue fund, and state fiscal reportsshall show separately the amount received from each suchinstitution.
