Duty of county commission--procedure.

71.250. If no opposition be made to such petition, thecounty commission may vacate the same, with such restrictions asthey may deem for the public good; but if opposition be made,such application shall continue until the next term of thecommission, when, if the objector consent to such vacation, or iftwo-thirds of all the real estate holders of the town or citypetition therefor, the commission may grant the prayer of thepetition. The part so vacated, if it be a lot, shall vest in himwho may have the title thereof, according to law; and if the samebe a street or alley, the same shall be attached to the groundbordering on such street or alley, and all title thereto shallvest in the person owning the property on each side thereof inequal proportions, according to the length or breadth of suchground, as the same may border on such street or alley; andwhenever a public square or common shall be vacated, the propertythereof shall be disposed of in such manner as the properauthorities of said town or city may direct.
