Officers--elections (cities attaining 3,000 to 10,000 after grantof charter in certain counties).

81.075. At the next municipal election in all cities andtowns under special charter, located in counties of the firstclass under a charter form of government, which have attained apopulation of three thousand inhabitants and not more than tenthousand inhabitants subsequent to the granting of their specialcharter, and at each municipal election thereafter, there shallbe elected a mayor, a police judge and two councilmen from eachward, each of whom shall hold his respective office* for fouryears and until his successor is elected and qualified; providedthat at the next municipal election there shall be elected onecouncilman from each ward, who shall serve for a term of fouryears, and the year next following such an election, at the timeof holding the general election for municipal officers, thereshall be elected one councilman from each ward, who shall servefor a term of one year, after which election there shall beelected at each succeeding municipal election one councilman fromeach ward, who shall serve for a period of four years.
