Procedure when county or township assessor acts undercontract--levy--representation for county board of equalization.

94.015. In any city which contracts for the assessment ofproperty by the county or township assessor as authorized bysection 70.220, RSMo, and does not elect or appoint an assessor,the county or township clerk shall deliver to the mayor, on orbefore the first day of October of each year, a certifiedabstract from his assessment books of all property within thecity subject to taxation by the state and the assessed valuethereof as agreed upon by the board of equalization. The mayorshall immediately transmit the abstract to the council whichshall establish by ordinance the rate of taxes for the year; andfor the purpose of giving cities of the third classrepresentation on the county board of equalization, when saidboard is sitting for the purpose of equalizing the assessment onsuch city property, the mayor and one other person to be selectedby the legislative body of the city shall sit with the countyboard of equalization when the board is passing upon theassessment of such city property, and shall each have a vote insaid board, and they shall be paid for such service the sameamount per day and out of the same fund as other members of theboard of equalization.
