Early retirement annuity, when.

104.1033. 1. Any member who has not attained normal retirementeligibility but who has at least five years of credited service may retirewith an early retirement annuity on or after attainment of age fifty-sevenand by making application in written form and manner approved by the board.

2. The early retirement annuity shall be a certain percent of anannuity provided for in subsection 2 of section 104.1024. The percentshall be one hundred percent reduced by one-half of one percent multipliedby the number of months by which age at early retirement is younger thannormal retirement eligibility.

3. Subject to the provisions of subsection 2 of section 104.1027, theearly retirement annuity shall be paid for the life of the retiree unlessan optional form of payment is elected as provided for in section 104.1027.
