Certain members entitled to credit for service regardless ofclassification.

104.272. Other provisions of law to the contrarynotwithstanding, any person who is an employee of stategovernment and a member of the transportation departmentemployees' and highway patrol retirement system is entitled tocredit for all of his service during employment with thedepartment of transportation or the state highwaypatrol if he is an employee of that same agency upon retirementregardless of whether he was classified as full-time, part-timeor temporary, and the requirement of section 104.010 of dutiesduring not less than one thousand hours for status as an employeeshall not apply to persons applying for retirement credit underthe provisions of this section.
