State agencies and officials not to prohibit communications betweenemployees and the state auditor or legislators, exceptions.

105.058. No state agency and no state official, including the jointcommittee on legislative research and the oversight division, shall, byagency policy, executive order, ethics codes or any other means, prohibitany state employee from communicating with the state auditor or his or herstate representative or state senator, nor shall such agency or officialrequire any such employee to provide any record or other informationregarding any communications with the state auditor or his or her staterepresentative or state senator, except when such communications aredirectly related to the primary employment duties of such employee.
