Records management and archives service to be established--appointmentof director.

109.220. The secretary of state shall establish andadminister in the executive branch of state government a "RecordsManagement and Archives Service" for the efficient and economicalapplication of management methods to the creation, utilization,maintenance, retention, preservation and disposal of officialrecords. He shall make an annual report to the governor fortransmission to the legislature. The report shall describe thestatus and progress of programs and shall include recommendationsfor improvements and additional economies in the management ofstate government. The secretary shall appoint a director ofrecords management and archives service who shall be technicallyqualified in records management and archives practices andtechniques.
