Suit in name of state of Missouri--procedure (first class counties).

141.090. All actions commenced under the provisions ofsections 141.010 to 141.160 shall be prosecuted in the name ofthe state of Missouri, at the relation and to the use of thecollector and against the owner of the property if known, and ifnot known, then against the last owner of record as shown by thecounty records at the time this suit was brought, and all landsowned by the same person or persons may be included in onepetition and in one count thereof, for the taxes for all suchyears as taxes may be due thereon, and said petition shall showthe different years for which taxes are due, as well as theseveral kinds of taxes or funds to which they are due, with therespective amounts due to each fund; all of which shall be setforth in a tax bill of said back taxes, duly authenticated by thecertificate of the collector and filed with the petition; andsaid tax bill or bills so certified shall be prima facie evidencethat the amount claimed in said suit is just and correct; and allnotices and process in suits under sections 141.010 to 141.160shall be sued out and served in the same manner as in civilactions in circuit courts; and in case of suits againstnonresident unknown parties, or other owners on whom servicecannot be had by ordinary summons, the proceedings shall be thesame as now provided by law in civil actions affecting real orpersonal property. In all suits under sections 141.010 to141.160 the general laws of the state as to practice andproceedings in civil cases shall apply, so far as applicable andnot contrary to this law.
