161.142. The headquarters of the department of elementaryand secondary education shall be at the seat of government, whereoffice space suitable and adequate for the work of the departmentshall be provided by the appropriate state agency. The recordsof the state board of education and the records, papers, andbooks belonging to the department of elementary and secondaryeducation shall be kept there in charge of the state commissionerof education.
