Annexation of district to adjoining district, when--state board ofeducation, duties.

162.071. When the creation of a school district or a changein the boundaries of an existing school district leaves theremaining part of a district containing less than twenty childrenof school age or when the remaining part of a district is leftwithout a schoolhouse, the state board of education shall orderits annexation to an adjoining district. The annexed territoryshall become a part of the receiving district on receipt by thesecretary or clerk of the district of notice of annexation fromthe state board of education.
