Board may employ attorney.

162.411. The board of any district may retain counsel whennecessary to the exercise of its powers. In all school districtsin this state which contain one or more cities or towns having atotal population of thirty thousand inhabitants or over theschool board may employ an attorney on a retainer basis wheneverthe board finds it necessary to do so and may prescribe hisduties, compensation and term of office, which shall not exceedone year.
