Boards of advisors, terms, appointment, duties, meetings.

162.795. 1. There shall be a board of advisors for the Missouri Schoolfor the Deaf and for the Missouri School for the Blind, each composed of fivemembers, appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate.

2. The members of each board shall hold their office for the term offour years and until their successors are appointed and qualified.

3. The boards shall act in an advisory capacity in regard to themaintenance, operation, management, control and all other matters relating tothe conduct and improvement of the Missouri School for the Deaf and theMissouri School for the Blind.

4. The board of advisors for each school shall meet bimonthly. At theregular meeting following the appointment of new members, each board shallorganize by electing one of its number president and one vice president andshall elect such other officers as it deems necessary. Three members of theboard constitute a quorum but no business shall be transacted unless themajority of the whole board votes therefor.

*Section 161.020 provides that the members of the board of advisors for the Missouri School for the Deaf and for the Missouri School for the Blind shall be appointed by the commissioner of education.
